Day 123- Missionary Work
Last night was a little cold and brisk. We went out to visit some of our investigators on our splits with the Elders. We visited with a recent convert who had some questions about the Church. He had been reading the Book of Mormon again and doing well with our new member program. After answering his questions he mentioned he fought in WWII in the pacific. He had the opportunity to fight along side of Philippine soldiers who were liberating their country from the occupation of the Japanese army. He said the most difficult thing about the war in the islands was that the Japanese had many tunnels into the sides of these mountains. Also the Japanese soldiers were fighting to the death in fear of dishonor. To surrender really was not an option in their minds.
